Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 10, 2026
This Policy explains what The Huddle collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. The Huddle is designed to collect as little as possible and to never store secrets you should not share with anyone.
1.What we collect
Account data: your email address or the identifier from a social sign-in (e.g., Google), and a display name you choose. This is stored with our authentication provider and linked to your profile.
Public wallet addresses: when you link a wallet for holder-weighted voting, we store your public address and periodically read your public on-chain token balance to calculate vote weight. We store only the balance snapshot and the derived weight.
Votes: which side of a market you voted for, so we can enforce one vote per market and calculate your share of any payout.
Usage data: standard request logs (IP, browser type, timestamps) for security and abuse prevention. These are retained only as long as needed.
2.What we never collect or store
- Private keys, seed phrases, or recovery words — never.
- Funds from your personal wallets — we cannot move them and never ask for the ability to.
- The full identities or wallet addresses of other users are never shown publicly. Leaderboards use display names only.
- House wallet private keys are kept in a separate, access-restricted environment — not in the app database.
3.How we use your data
We use the information we collect to:
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Record your votes and enforce one-vote-per-market.
- Calculate holder vote weight from public on-chain balances.
- Determine your eligibility for and amount of a payout if your side wins.
- Display aggregate, anonymized stats on the public board — totals only, never your individual activity.
- Prevent abuse, fraud, and prohibited conduct.
4.On-chain data and public markets
Wallet addresses and token balances are public by nature on the blockchain. Linking your wallet means your on-chain activity is associated with your Huddle account for voting and payout purposes. Anyone who knows your public address can already see your balance and transactions on-chain — linking it here does not make that data newly public.
7.Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Vote records are retained to verify payout eligibility and audit integrity. Usage logs are retained for a limited period for security purposes.
You may request deletion of your account at any time. Note that on-chain data (wallet balances, token transfers) cannot be erased by The Huddle.
8.Security
We use row-level security on our database, access-restricted environments for server keys, and authenticated-only routes for sensitive operations. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to limit what we hold and protect what we do.
9.Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the Contact page. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
10.Children
The Huddle is not intended for anyone under 18 and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.
11.Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of The Huddle after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
